The leaves have changed colors and begun to fall, you have been enjoying Pumpkin Spice treats and drinks for the past few months, and Jack-O-Lanterns can be spotted around the neighborhood. It is Halloween time, and The Edmund happens to be located in one of the most festive towns in Northern Virginia. If you are looking for Halloween fright or delight around Reston, check out this list of things to do in the area.
Halloween at Reston Town Center—Reston Town Center–October 31st
Costumed children can enjoy trick-or-treating with visits at various participating retailers—just look for the pumpkin flyer in the window. Make sure to stop by the Information Center for special treats and goodies. Stop by Scrawl Books to meet Curious George and listen to stories read by everyone’s favorite monkey!

The Glow—A Jack-O-Lantern Experience—Lake Fairfax Park—October 4-30th
The Glow turns almost a quarter mile of a local trail into a mesmerizing pumpkin-art experience. The trail is filled with over 5,000 hand carved jack-lanterns ranging from artistically detailed single pumpkin carvings to amazing, larger than life gourd structures. The Glow is a family-friendly experience also featuring fall food and beverages and live demonstrations from local carvers! Advanced tickets are required, but children under 2 are free.
Boo-at-the-Zoo—Roer’s Zoofari—October 30-31st
Put on your most creative costume and head to the Zoo for a weekend of Halloween Fun! Kid-friendly costumes are requested. Experience up close encounters with majestic bison, loveable llamas, and friendly fallow deer. Dress up as one of these animals and see if you can pull a quick trick!

Fall Fest 2021—Lake Fairfax Park—October 31st
Stop by the park from 8am-1pm in costume for unlimited games, free food, loads of prizes, and music! There will be prizes for best costume and more. You may even catch some of the jack-o-lanterns and carvers from The Glow.
Halloween Trunk or Treat—Nova Labs—October 31st
Start a new Halloween tradition by dressing up your vehicle and stopping by Nova Labs from 3pm-5pm for a completely outdoor, family-friendly, prize-filled Halloween event! Bring he family and trick-or-treat from the trunks of spook-tacularly decorated cars. Food and drink will be available for purchase and there will be prizes for best individual costume, best family costume, best pumpkin carving, and best-decorated car!
